山口一郎（Vo&G）が高校時代の同級生、岩 基晴(G)と二人で活動を始め“サカナ クション”を結成。札幌を中心に2005年より イブ活動する中、江島啓一 （Dr）、岡崎英美（Key）、草刈愛美（B）の3 が2006年春迄に正式なメンバー に加入し、現在の5人となる。道内インディ ズシーンでライブハウスのオー ディエンスから徐々に口コミで話題と注目を 集める。2006年8月に「RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL 2006 in EZO」（北海道石狩湾新港樽川埠頭特設会場） に公募選 出枠「RISING★STAR」に868組みの中から選ばれ 初出演する。これをきっかけに 一躍、さらに注目を集めることになった。特 に地元カレッジチャートのランキン グに自主録音の「三日月サンセット」がチャ ートインしたのを皮切りに、さらに 「白波トップウォーター」もラジオでオンエ アされるようになり、リスナーから の問合せが道内CDショップに相次ぐ。道内音 ファンの間では、CD発売を待望す るファンからの反響が日増しに高くなってい く。2007年5月に初音源となる「GO TO THE FUTURE」をリリース。そしてわずか8ヶ月とい スピードで早くも2ndア ルバム「NIGHT FISHING」を2008年1月23日にリリースする。その 、初の全国ツ アー（8箇所8公演）を3月行い、今夏大型野外 フェスでは新人最多となる8本に出 演するなど、活発なライブ活動を展開してい る。 【サカナクション】 -sakanaction- ミュージックシーンの変化を恐れず魚の動き のように軽快に素早くアクションしていくと いう願いを込めて "サカナクション(sakana plus action = sakanaction)"とバンド名にする。 三日月サンセット(「NIGHT FISHING IS GOOD」TOUR 2008 in SAPPORO) In 2005, Ichiro Yamaguchi (Vocal&Guitar) and Motoharu Iwadera (Guitar)started performing at various venues around Sapporo area. Soon their music gained good words among indie music scene in Hokkaido. In the spring of 2006, Ami Kusakari (Bass), Emi Okazaki (Keyboard) and Keiichi Ejima (Drums) joined the lineup and the band started to catch further attention of the industry. In August of the same year, they made their appearance in RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL 2006 in EZO (held at the special site near Tarukawa Pier,Ishikari Bay New Port in Hokkaido). Triggerd by this show, their music began to attract more and more audiences. After their self-recorded song "Mikazuki Sunset" hit the local college chart, "Shiranami Topwater" began to get frequent radio air-play and CD stores received numerous inquiries from audiences. People's support has been growing bigger and bigger. Still based in Sapporo, the band is now becoming active in Tokyo as well. -sakanaction- This band name shows the member's wish to act quickly and lightly, like fishes in the water, without fearing changes in the music scenes.
