About Me |
| I'm 54, red hair, bluegray eyes, thin, married to Barbara Ann for over 33 years, have 2 grown children and a grandson. I'm a retired correctional officer now working as a library clerk and a lay minister with Pastor Erik Hossann planting a new church in Milfor, PA. You can find more about that by going to http://devoted.to/soarlikeaneagle I'm also an author. My first novel came out this past May called THE 3RD COVENANT, a Christian mystery/suspense novel that you can read more about at http://freewebs.com/sonburst Myspace Contact Tables I got my contact table at Christian Contact Tables . | |
My Interests |
| My interests are reading, writing, music, people, all art forms including the theartre. |
I'd like to meet:THE 3RD COVENANT has been nominated by Deadly Ink for its David G. Sasher, Sr. Award for Best Mystery Novel of 2006I want to meet people like Brandily Collins, Terri Blackstock, Chandra Smith and Jeffrey Deaver. These are all writers. I don't know if Mr. Deaver is a Christian, but I know that he has been a source of encouragement to me as I wrote my novel. I'd also like to get to see Barry McGuire again. Some of you may know him as the guy who wrote and sang "Eve of Destruction". Well, you haven't met the "new" Barry. Since that came out in '68 Barry turned his heart over to the Lord and has been touring the world, singing the Gospel wherever he gets the chance. He's a fantastic guy. |
Music:Best all time hymn, "It Is Well (with my soul)" and of course "The Old Rugged Cross". I also like "In the Garden". For contemporary favorites I like "Mary Did You Know?" which has an awesome message. You see, to me art isn't art unless it communicates. So shouting into a mich while being drowned out by electric guitars and loud drums isn't music to me. You may like it and that's fine. (I'm not one of those "Rock is of the devil" people) I just know what I like. |
Movies:I'm a guy and like the standard guy flicks, like Lethal Weapon, The Rock, Ransom, stuff like that. I like Jackie Chan's stuff too. He's a blast. Still, the most powerful movie I've seen has to be The Passion of the Christ. Again, if you don't agree with me that's up to you. It's nothing to argue about. I just think that Mel Gibson managed to put a lot of truth and feeling into a blockbuster movie. My favorite scene is the one in the garden where Jesus steps on the snake. |
Television:Guess what? Our TV isn't hooked up to anything but our VCR and DVD player. We don't get TV and I'm glad. Most of the stuff on TV is garbage. However, I do like MONK. We own seasons 2, 3 and 4 on DVD and hes a riot. |

Books:Christian Glitter by www.christianglitter.com If it's a mystery, chances are I like it. I do have those authors I refuse to read. My favorite authors, however, are Jeffrey Deaver, Harlan Coben, Joel Rosenberg, Brandilyn Collins, Terri Blackstock, Tedd Dekker and Frank Peretti, to name a few. There are a few others, like Dee Henderson, who's just come out with a couple new books, but the others are the ones I really look forward to reading. I like good writing that is well-written and fun to read. I like twists and turns, a plot that challenges you to try to figure out the ending, but always is different than what you thought it was going to be. In fact, my book THE 3RD COVENANT, I didn't know how it was going to end until about 2 weeks before I finished the rough draft. Look for more of the same in my next work. Flash movies are fun to make at Toufee.com |

Heroes:In a world so overrun with evil you might think I'd have a hard time with this category. That's not the case at all. I remember, for instance, the littlest guy in camp (when I was a boy) who ran the 2.1 mile marathon. He came in dead last, a full 20 minutes behind the 2nd to last runner. The thing is, when he crossed the finish line he colapsed. That little guy gave EVERYTHING to finish that race. That's the definition of a hero. Then there's my dad, who I'm sure doesn't see himself as a hero, but without his Godly life and example I would never have understood what it meant to know God personally, or that I really could. I wouldn't have known that there was a God, much less that He loved me enough to become a man so that He could die for my sins. I could go on and on, my brother, the one who, although younger, challenged me to greater hights, both physically and spiritually. And my son, who, now married and raising his own family, is preparing for the mission field. Of course there is my daughter who's love of people, especially children, is unsurpassed by anyone I've ever met. Folks, these are true heroes. I look up to them and hope that my life in some ways inspires them. Also Please Visit Way of the Master |
