About Me |
|
I make up the Southern and Southwestern part of the island of Great Britain. Area: 50,351 sq mi (130,410 sq km). Population as of 2001: 49,138,831. England home of Tea, Sexy accents, The Internet, Mass production, The Queen and many more grand and wondeful things that I will eventually talk about! At the moment our Goverment is not the greatest, Labour keeps promising to sort things out and dosn't... One is not pleased with them! Thou when the elections next come around Im sure that my people will do the decent thing and remove Labour and all the scotts from power and replace them with a Political Party who has a greater interest in me! I am the largest constituent unit of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. I am often considered as just a part of the Island of Great Britain!!! I assure you that I am very different from Wales, Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland! I am a land of low hills and plateaus, with a 2,000-mi (3,200-km) coastline. Substantial uplands, the Pennines, divides northern England; the Cheviot Hills define the Scottish border. In the southwest lie the Cotswold Hills and the plateau regions of Exmoor and Dartmoor; in the southeast lie the Downs and in the south the Salisbury Plain. My weather is diverse, with a generally mild but erratic temperate climate, with plentiful rainfall all year round, though the seasons can be quite variable in temperature. Temperatures rarely fall below -5°C (23°F) or rise above 30°C (86°F) due to the Gulf stream from south america keeping me nice and toastie. The wind is mainly from the southwest, bringing mild and wet weather to me regularly, from the Atlantic Ocean. I'm driest in the east and warmest in the southeast, which . Snowfall can occur in Winter (sometimes) and early Spring. I have eight main geographic regions. The South East, centred on London, is an economically dominant area. It contains an extensive range of manufacturing and science-based industries and commercial endeavours. The West Midlands, in west-central England, is a diversified manufacturing region that centres on Birmingham. The region also includes the Shakespeare country, centred on Stratford-upon-Avon. The East Midlands, in east-central England, is also a manufacturing region and contains some of England's best farmland. East Anglia is the easternmost part of England. It is mainly an agricultural region, but high-technology industries have developed there. Manchester and Liverpool are the chief industrial cities of the North West; the region has long been known for textile production, but that has rapidly given way to diversified manufacturing. The Humberside region lies to the east and is noted for textiles and steelmaking, though its economy has become more diversified and there is extensive farmland. The North region extends north to the Scottish border. It includes the celebrated Lake District and is a centre of engineering and pharmaceutical manufacture. The South West region, which includes Cornwall, has a growing tourist industry, and some areas are becoming industrialized. I have 35 administrative counties: Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Cheshire, Cornwall, Cumbria, Derbyshire, Devon, Dorset, Durham, East Sussex, Essex, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Kent, Lancashire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Northamptonshire, Northumberland, North Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Shropshire, Somerset, Staffordshire, Suffolk, Surrey, Warwickshire, West Sussex, Wiltshire, and Worcestershire. I am especially noted for my long and rich literary tradition, as well as for my architecture, painting, theatres, museums, and universities. I also played an integral role in rock music. |

Heroes:Elizabeth the First.... ahhh She was a good Monarch she didn't take shit from anyone else.Victoria... Another grand Monarch she ensured the British Empire streached from the far east to the wild west. They say that at its height the sun never set on the British Empire. Winston Churchill.... Ensured my fair lands were never spoiled by the Nazi conquest of mainland Europe. |
