| Matthew Williams has been the driving force in previous bands historically as the lead vocalist and enjoying his job as the 'front man'. His love for music is felt by all those that enjoy his inspired lyrics and rich productions.His ear is tuned to wide range of influences spanning all genres; rock, pop, blues, soul, R&B, and all of the great bands that remain the 'best of the best'. "The DNA started with blues from the 1930's, then came the English groups like Led Zeppelin and then soon after Bostonians Aerosmith; now pop, rock, country... they all crossover and all are synonymous". There are too many for him to mention, and in his heart they all remain immortal!His melodic songs are dynamic; rich and full of abundant instrumentation. And now as a soloist... he plays them all: Twelve string acoustic and electric, numerous acoustic and electric six string guitars, bass guitar, keyboards, percussion, and all vocals. On a few songs you will hear up to ten instruments. As he puts it "you can always add more, but you never want to take anything away"."I love songs with catchy melodies.. I have a sense and love for dramatic segues, presence of emotion and passion in both the lyrics and flow of dynamics. I hear all of the various parts of a song in my head when writing or producing a tune, keeping in mind how it will translate to a live audience. Like most musicians, I guess I place myself in a role as an active participant in the process; performing, viewing and listening at the same time. Visualizing being in the crowd watching, and being on stage performing. It helps to 'capture' the essence of the moment". | |
