| Ben Wade is an independent acoustic singer/songwriter and musician based out of Decatur, Georgia. His raw and soulful vocals are reminiscent of the “old school” soul singers, but with a bit more contemporary feel. He burst onto the Atlanta music scene in the mid ‘90’s, playing around such impressive talents as Shawn Mullins, Matthew Kahler, Kristen Hall, Mark Reynolds, Jonathan Ripley, Jason Marcum, Tommy Thompson and Don Conoscenti. In 1995, he was named “Best Acoustic Artist” by Creative Loafing Magazine. He played in the Jason Marcum Band for several years, as well as performing acoustic shows as a duo with Jason in 1999 and early 2000. For the past several years, Ben has been quietly mapping his musical path, playing smaller venues and working on his songwriting. Recently, Ben has teamed up with the dynamic percussionist John Valentino, formerly with The Lovecakes, and Nico Hueso, a classically trained violinist. Ben Wade, Valentino and Nico are traveling the southeast, bringing a fantastic freshness to the acoustic music scene. They are currently in the studio recording new material, with the debut cd due out soon. | |
