| DJ JAG has been naturally drawn to the deeper darker side of house and techno and has been banging out club nights all over Metro Detroit. This young act first became interested in music when he was first introduced into the U.K club scene in 1997 and has been hooked ever since. After spending two years in the U.K experiencing the diversity of U.K house and garage Jag moved back to his roots in Detroit and began a residency at the Blue Martini Birmingham. Working alongside his long time friend DJ Imix www.myspace.com/djimix , Jag began to evolve as a DJ introducing many main stream samples into his set. “I have been drawn to familiarity while still maintaining a deeper and harder sound. I am really attracted to the works of Bad Boy Bill, Robbie Rivera and Armin Van Helden, they manage to always revive some old track and incorporate it into their mix while still maintaining a technically solid set. I call it re-current house. Recently the trend is to remix the tracks only with the vocals, I believe that this is only the tip of the iceburg, music lovers across genres find a more subliminal familiarity in the notes and bass lines”. As his career evolves Jag has struggled to stay at the tip of electronic music always creating new ways to please his vans. Jag has recently become interested in live remixing using the broad range of technology available today. Jag will begin a new project set to release this summer with long time friend and mentor Dj Imix. “I hope this one takes Detroit by storm and raises the stakes in the Dj Industry, it is sure to be appreciated by the true music lover and the odd weekend clubber, so watch out it’s coming at you this summer.” Jag also hopes to complete his first original work by the end of the summer. |
