Aguilar Amplification is a manufacturer of high quality bass amplifiers, speaker cabinets and accessories located in NYC. Our goal is to make products that sound great and have features that are useful to bass players. Many of the world's greatest musicians have chosen to use Aguilar. Our list of endorsers includes jazz greats like Gary Willis and John Patitucci as well as rock and roll heroes like Willie Weeks (Eric Clapton), Matt Rubano (Taking Back Sunday), and Jeph Howard (The Used). Over the course of 2007 many new artists joined the Aguilar Family - Rickey Minor (American Idol, etc), Ethan Farmer (Christina Aguilara, Babyface, etc...), Eric Smith (Rihanna), Jeff Caxide (Isis), Troy Oftedal (Cattle Decapitation) and many others. We'd like to welcome them all to the family! At the recent 2008 Winter NAMM Show we introduced the DB 115, DB 212, and the DB 412 speaker cabinets. Following in the DB cabinet tradition they are all full in the low end, very focused in the midrange and smooth in the top end. We also debuted the DB 285JC that was co-designed with Jack Casady. This cabinet captures the nuance of a hollow body or upright bass while still being full bodied for a standard bass guitar. Everyone who came by the booth was also very excited about the new Tone Hammer pedal. This footswitchable preamp/DI features 3 bands of EQ with sweepable midrange, an XLR output selectable for "Pre" or "Post" EQ, and our new AGS Circuit (Adaptive Gain Shaping). AGS allows the player to boost the gain into clipping by stepping on a footswitch. As you turn up the gain knob the EQ shape adapts to the amount of gain - tightening up the low end and smoothing out the highs - to give you a wide range of overdriven sounds. 18 volt operation gives this pedal plenty of headroom to reproduce the dynamic range of a demanding musician. 2008 is off to a good start for Aguilar and we are looking foward to seeing where the year takes us!
