| Since it's inception (1987), Squad was destined to fill an important place in the chilean extreme scene from the eighties, due to the great music; a mix of punk, thrash elements and layered with deathy vocals, and second in importance, the lyrics , that described in cheesy humor ( yes, there were some anti-nuclear tunes!),some important issues for the youth of that generation. Squad pioneered an style later adapted for current bands.
Born in the minds of Rodrigo Cuadra (now in the succesful band Dorso), and Chris (the only remaining original member), Squad delivered the youthful angst in noisy but with heavy chunks of metal/punk style.
With the success of the tape "Gallinazeous Death" , Squad gained fans across the country (a fact unknown for the band!), and played with the most notorious bands of that period .
Every band has their song, the one that the audiences scream all nigth, asking to be played , well Squad had one!: MUERTE A LOS HIPPIES, a testament of the new generation hating old hippie trends (ain't sounds wise?).
Now in the new century, Chris with new band members still maintains a great following, playing every month with the bands from this new scene. And obviously with great tunes ( check above!).This year is the crucial one!, planning to record the definitive album ,Squad will show a new brand of abrasive music, that it will be a candy for your ears!. It's safe to say that Squad is firmly enthroned in the chilean pantheon of rock bands, but most importantly, in the minds of many music fans!!!.

e su inicio ( 1987), Squad estuvo destinado a llenar un importante espacio en la escena musical extrema chilena de los años 80, debido a su gran musica ; una mezcla de punk, elementos del thrash y con vocalizaciones casi death metal, y tambien por sus letras, que describian en un humor grotesco ( si, habian canciones anti-nucleares!), importantes situaciones que atañian a la juventud de esa epoca. Squad fue pionero en un estilo que mas tarde fue adaptado por las bandas actuales.
Nacido de las mentes de Rodrigo "Pera" Cuadra ( actualmente en Dorso), y Chris ( el unico miembro original que continua en la banda), Squad entrego la juvenil tension y rabia en sonoros ruidos que mezclaban el punk y el metal.
Con el exito del tape "Gallinazeous Death", Squad cosecho fans en todo el pais ( un hecho desconocido para la banda!), ademas de tocar con todas las agrupaciones del estilo de esa epoca.
Cada banda tiene "la" cancion, aquella que el publico pide durante todo el concierto, pues bien, Squad tenia una!: MUERTE A LOS HIPPIES, un testamento de la nueva generacion, que odiaba a la generacion anterior, inmersa en creencias hippies ( no suena genial? ).
Actualmente , en este nuevo siglo, Chris con nuevos integrantes aun mantiene un fiel seguimiento por parte de las viejas y nuevas generaciones que comparten el estilo. Obviamente, las buenas canciones continuan, chequeen arriba!
