| Standing 5’9, weighing in at 160lbs, residing in the Midwest region in Rockford, IL (right outside Chicago), comes a 24 year old heavyweight contender with sharp lyrics, heavy punch-lines, and a nice vocabulary. He is known as Tha Chosen 1. Born Sharod Horton, he grew up on Rockford’s west side of town. Like many, he grew up with a sense of urgency to try to do better for his family, as well as himself. Although he didn’t really have a rough childhood, he did eventually realize the troubles in today’s society for his own people and just plain society in general. What Tha Chosen 1 offers to bring to the game today is a versatile style of hip-hop, with club bangers, mellow joints for the ladies, and even real life, current events that is happening everyday, either in the hood or around the world. He feels that a lot people underestimate the talent from the Midwest. The east-coast is well-known. The South has been established plenty of times. The West will never leave. But when will the Midwest hold the title for awhile? With Tha Chosen 1’s determination, it’s just a matter of time when people realize that he has something special to give. He has performed in places like, Chicago, Wisconsin, New York, St. Louis, Indianapolis and Memphis, just to name a few. He has also opened up for people like Lil Wayne, Pretty Rickey, Twista, Do-or-Die, and Johnny P. Tha Chosen 1 is just a striving artist looking for the right direction and a little help to get his music placed in the right hands of industry personnel who will actually listen opposed to just tossing on the shelf. His current projects include: "State of Emergency, Mixtape Massacre vol. 1," with 22 hot bangers, "Mixtape Massacre vol 2: The Streets Ain't Safe" with 19 smokin tracks, and vol. 3 due to drop fall of 2008.
