Come definire la loro musica? Noise? Post punk? New wave? Seppur applicabili ai BUTCHER MIND COLLAPSE, queste definizioni rappresentano solo tante estetiche sotto cui si celano gli archetipi ancestrali e maledetti del blues e del rock’n’roll. Una sorta di anti-avanguardia, in cui la passionalità dell’uno e la carica liberatoria dell’altro strisciano sotterranee, ma prima di raggiungere la superficie sono già mutate in depravazione. .. un sound esasperato, feroce, stridente, figlio del rock più deviato, ispirato ai cantori della disperazione. Doors, Stooges, Lou Reed, Tom Waits, David Thomas e i Pere Ubu, Cramps e Suicide, Captain Beefheart, Nick Cave, David Yow. Tutto questo? No. Niente di tutto ciò… BUTCHER MIND COLLAPSE .. in realtà la messa in scena di un tracollo psichico, emotivo e culturale. Immaginate: tra rovine urbane e devastazioni ambientali si aggirano, come in una giungla, esseri che un tempo furono umani, sopraffatti ora dalle proprie psicosi e perversioni, dominati dal vizio e dalla violenza. L’orgia generale sfocia nel massacro. Il bagno di sangue come rituale purificatore, in cui la musica funge da semplice mezzo di attuazione, comportandosi da tramite tra lo stato di coscienza e l’alterazione che conduce all’invasamento. Abominevoli. / Four good guys, four clean faces, that change into jailbirds as they get on the stage, used to any kind of abuse, especially sexual abuses. How can their music be defined? Noise? Post punk? New wave? Even if BUTCHER MIND COLLAPSE accepted these definitions, the latter would be no more than labels that hide the ancestral and damned archetypes of blues and rock’n’roll. A type of anti avant-garde, where passion and freedom crawl underground, and turn into depravation before coming up to surface…an exasperated sound, savage and shrill, son of the most deviated rock, inspired by the desperation singers. Doors, Stooges, Lou Reed, Tom Waits, David Thomas and Pere Ubu, Cramps e Suicide, Captain Beefheart, Nick Cave, David Yow. Everything of this? No, nothing but BUTCHER MIND COLLAPSE.. A real show of a nervous, emotional and cultural breakdown. Image: between urban and natural devastations, as in a jungle, there are some human being that were humans once upon a time, now subdued by their psychosis and perversions, dominated by vice and violence. The general orgy become a massacre. Bloodshed as a cleansing ritual, where music is the way between a conscious state and the alteration that leads to obsession. Abominable. |
