| Le groupe SPANK, c'est Olivier Chauzy, guitare et chant , Olivier Cayrey, guitare basse et Benoit PLA, batterie et choeurs, trois toulousains issus de deux formations des années 90. Olivier chauzy ne pouvant reformer son ancien groupe pour une soirée entre amis pour la fête de la musique (ou bien la fête des bars, je ne sais plus), il proposa à Benoit et Olivier de monter les quelques morceaux qu'il jouait depuis pal mal de temps seul dans son petit appartement. Après trois mois de répétition et une dizaine de compositions en poche, ils se lancèrent pour leur premier concert devant un par terre d'amis et de soifars, pour ensuite ne plus s'arrêter. Six mois après leur formation en mars 2005, ils décidèrent de travailler avec Dominique Parise (dit dodo) et Jean Jonquez, pour enregistrer leurs première démo 6 titres afin de pouvoir tout d'abord se faire plaisir et également posséder un produit fini leur permettant de démarcher les professionnels de la musique. C'est au fil de leurs quelques concerts sur Toulouse (chaque musicien en revendique plus de deux cents dans sa formation précédente) que le trio a retrouvé ses marques sur scène pour imposer un alliage de power pop et de rock alternatif mélodique, chanté en anglais, mais aussi depuis peu en français. C'est en Mai 2006, que le tournage du clip de "from here" a été réalisé par jean louis Cruz au studio saint germes(31), avec l'aide de laurent Oyharcabal et emmanuel Castello pour la technique et de claire Walkoviak pour le maquillage.Le second clip toujours réalisé par jean louis cruz ne devrait plus tarder de sortir du montage. En attendant le making of de "why don't you love me" est disponnible sur cette page. SPANK is a power pop rock band created in march 2005 by olivier guitar and voice, olivier bass and ben drum . It took only 6 months to produce their first EP eponym (with "dodo" PARISE et jean JONQUEZ/"studio mobile") to prove to the word that they are not only good on stage. All the lyrics are written by MR CHAUZY (a mix English / French). 2006 has been a massive year of work for them with a lot of gigs in the south of france and the shooting of the two first videos ( "from here" and "why don't you love me) produced by jean louis CRUZ and with the help of many friends for the technique and the make up. 2007 will be the year of all expectation with the recording of the first album that should come out in the summer (still with "studio mobile") |
