| The Delta Block (formerly known as Mk Ultra), was formed in the fall of 2005, on an acid trip in west Houston. They began as an experimental improvisational act playing open mic nights at Helio's. Eventually little pieces of their jams became songs that support awareness, activism, freedom of speech, human rights and revolution, but most importantly music that reveals their creativity and individuality. As they grew, they formed their own style blending noise, punk, psychedelic, grunge and politics into the Delta Block concoction. The energy they create allows them freedom to play without genre boundaries. Drummer, Etziel Mendez, quotes, "The Delta Block is open to the evolvement of its own style." The Delta Block's lyrics boldly inform and confront issues in politics and society that many are blinded to, such as the Military Commissions Act, the 9/11 treachery, and other unjust gateways of tyranny that the government subjects its people to.The Delta Block is: John Newton (from Ecuador), Dominique Withoff (from Argentina) and EM (from Mexico).The Delta Block supports: revolution, awareness, unity, activism, originality, underground music/culture, freedom of speech, human rights,The Delta Block does not support: Fascism, imperialism, nationalism, militarism, sexism, racism,censorship,globalism,and lies.
