wrap up: started DJing in early 90s professional musicproduction since 1998 studios : whp musicproduction / germany / mainz; studio : r-force musicproduction / germany / wiesbaden L.Ray has been working now for last years with more international producers as the decade before as it always has been a desire of him to work with different ideas, influences and most of all “teamed” work. He settled down in his birth place Wiesbaden / Germany where he is now working solely as a producer in order to be flexible in working for other business projects as photography, design and marketing. He still loves to watch the crowd moving to his electronic beats – and still, now and then picks an invitation for a gig to maintain the connection and affinity the listeners. His DJ-work was recognized in several corners and wonderful places in the world, from San Francisco, Las Vegas, London, Stockholm or somewhere around his base in central Europe. He always preferred small, dirty clubs, as he personally loves “dirty” and nasty parties – never one to sit still – never one who appreciated chic and clean, “artificial” night life. Although sometimes quite contrary to his sound. After a long time of hard work around the globe he decided to get down and back to his roots “to share all the care and love” he earned the last decade through all the countries. “It’s where it all started – no chance to deny” says the native german, with portuguese roots who grew up with a true love of deep, soulful gospel and spiritual sounds and characters. Indeed he noticed a strong connection between the deep, muddy and authentic nature of south european and south pacific countries and with their warmhearted dweller. He kept “deep down and dirty” as his main connection thread through all works and productions – no matter whether it’s a more vocal or more progressive influence to his work.
