biography. [scroll down for more.] Hi, my name's Bristol and I'm a songwriter. I run this space myself, so feel free to write me whenever you want to. Even if it can take some time, I'llanswer. I promise. I'm a musician, singer and producer. Anyway, I really love making music with or without professionalequipment. I both can be fun. Most of my tunes are recorded on my lap top, which actually is no mac. I know that sucks, but I like it. Ialso like doing all the work myself and wasting a lot of time on it, 'cause I'm pretty inconvenient withcreating and saving sounds. And...yes, I'm anxious to hear my own instruments on my works. I play them. I use a Korg K25 midi master keyboard and it works. Dynamic. - That's the word that fits. I like verymuch. Maybe it's a bit small for me, 25 keys ist not that much if you try to play a piano, but's it'sokay. The problem is, I still haven't got any guitar that is working properly, but I'm trying to changethat soon... but my mother's old guitar was the first instrument I've ever touched and it has been mycompanion for my whole lifetime. So there'll be no change in that. I once bought a bongo drum in Pisa, Italy... well, it originated from Senegal. Anyway, I now have thisdrum and lots of sticks and percussion aswell, so I'm able to hit something, too. Plus, I have a largercollection of toy keyboards and gameboys I use for producing songs. I'm also putting my sample archive inorder just to stay on top of things. If it's indispensable for you to pigeonhole me somewhere, you might just try by comparing me to my idolsMike Skinner (The Streets), Jamie T., Tricky and Massive Attack. I think theyare the ones I try to be similar to, even if I seem to be far away from that. However, I listen to theirrecords and think, it's the most important music for me ever made. I love the UK, love Bristol (but neverbeen there), love Trip Hop, Electronica, Garage and Rap. I even love Emo, although nobody around hereknows what this means and my British mates all connect it to something bad. To me it's fun being calledemo. I like it. Somebody has to be. Leaving Bristol is how I call me and the formation all around me when it gets to live performancesor featuring other singers. I am unsigned and not really proud of it, but I never sent any of my materialto a label. Well, maybe I should. There actually are some labels, I'm really interested in, such asPacemaker Recordings, Fatcat, Ed Banger Records, Brown Punk, TruThoughts and Morr Music, but I don't know the ropes with labels, so there probably are tons ofcool labels that would like my music. I hope. Maybe none. I fear. Oh yes, by the way, if you've got orknow a label that would sign me, just let me know! :) My favorite would have been The Beats, butunfortunately it's dead. I've been sent a few inquiries lately, so I'm some kind of sitting on the fence these days. I made analbum of my own, called "an approach to style" which I played on some concerts last summer tobecome a little more known. I'm also made an extended play called "second class hero". It'll besent to some labels, too. I live in Hamburg now to study for the bar and of course go on making music.Mabye I'll tour the UK in 2008. So, if you still think, Leaving Bristol is not that much of a talent, I like to mention that I'dlove to do remixes, mash-ups, features and speaking in audiobooks or radio plays of any kind, 'cause I'mreally enamoured of this stuff. So, if you want me to, let it be known. I'm also willing to make themesfor movies or tv and radio shows. Background music, elevator music, video game music, noise effects - Ilove all that stuff and I'm ready to do this. Any weird project you could image - I'm doing it, mate. Iwrote a song inspired by an aquarelle of Emil Nolde for the Kunsthalle museum in Emden, Germany, forexample. It's similar to what Basement Jaxx did with Karel Appel's art for Tate, London. Oh yeah, I'm alsoputtin on some foreign music as a dj. Oh yeah, and check out all the other communities I have signed up to, too! There are loads! On a note, Leaving Bristol exists since september '06, but I exist even longer. :) Since October,22nd '86. What more can I say? Well, I'm running a large project, going by the name Leaving Bristol artistcollective (LBAC), which aim is to support talented unsigned artist to become known in public,especially here on myspace.
