From the simplest love song to a sprawling cinematic composition, his work is imbued with a complete awe of the universe & an almost obsessive desire to understand forces at work within it.Born in the picturesque Appalachian mountains of Virginia, Austin grew up fascinated with 50s & 60s pop music, the grunge era, and Michael Jackson. Before re-locating to New York City, he attended The North Carolina School of the Arts Conservatory where he studied filmmaking and music, adding a distinct cinematic quality to his compositions.His live performances are evocative sensory experiences that often utilize a tight-knit group of high-class New York musicians. He can also be seen performing stripped down acoustic shows and live laptop-symphonies.With a solid foundation already built in New York City and North Carolina, prospects are high for 2008. Austin recently finished a dual-single with renowned producer Allen Farmelo (Sean Cullen, Jesus H. Christ, Time Farmer) at Mavericks in NYC and has plans for a full-album release later this year, as well as extensive touring throughout America & Europe.
