| Odessa enjoys theatre, museums, concerts, writing poetry, singing,and dance(mainly observing). I've been performing most of my life-just not professionally. Finally, I mustered enough courage to pursue my passion by joining a dance/performing arts company. Now I have a haven, with an amiable bunch of bohemians that allow me to express myself through song, spoken word, comedy and drama; more importantly, participate in the enrichment of lives through entertainment. I support the local arts community by greeting theatre patrons as an usher. My corny, inner child gets excited over trivia and board games. S-h-h- Don't tell anyone that I study the dictionary before a Scrabble match. Yes, I'm a sore loser. What else? Festivals, casinos, traveling, exotic foods,juke joints. | |

Music:I LOVE most music (closet DJ). The Seventies is my favorite musical decade ...my vibe is Funky Disco, Smooth Jazz, Broadway Tunes, Classic R&B or Soft Rock. My fantasy is to become the ultimate versatile artist: I want to take voice lessons from Phoebe Snow, learn piano from Alicia Keyes, watch closely as Sheila E. plays the drums, practice a few dance steps with Debbie Allen, contemplate my next poem with advice from Maya Angelou, and for guitar instruction--I prefer Doria Roberts, of course, I'm a slow learner ;) |

Books:Most recently, I've read books about these artists: Ava Gardner, Billie Holliday, Quincy Jones, Cleo Laine, Ethel Waters, Pearl Bailey and Lena Horne. Non-Fiction books on different cultures are intriguing to me. Also, I'm drawn to the pagentry and tragedy of Russian History. Learning to lift my head from the pages to find excitement on my own block is my personal challenge! I'm working it out... |
