| Phoenix - A bird in egyptian mythology that lived in the desert for 500 years and then consumed itself by fire, later to rise renewed from it's ashes. Closely associated with the rising sun and the egyptian sun-god Ra. The bird was said to regenerate when hurt or wounded by a foe, thus being immortal and invincible - a symbol of fire, divinity and resurrection.
