His next "Public" Light Show Gig(s) is/are: -Otherwise he's doing alot of private parties- -if you are interested, send him an email ok?- VJ (psychedelic-light-show guy) Flash/Web Designer (real-life-job so he can eat, afford a house and feed his dog guy) Musician (psychedelic trance rock guitar guy) hau mitake oyasin! his full name is kenneth scott running horse herr. he creates and gives live light shows for parties and gatherings for all sorts of music, though he prefers music that has a driving or psychedelic rhythm to it or is just plain honest and from the heart. while most "vjs" call their work visuals or animations, he uses the term "visions". he tries to bring out his native american heritage in his shows by using visions and paintings that he himself or others have had or made, either in sweat lodges or in dreams; while at the same time teaching people about the native american way of thinking. here's why he thinks his shows stand out from others: 1 - the amount of original material and ideas. 2 - he plays live. he triggers all his visions live from midi instruments or other controllers, in time and in mood with the music. he plays the visions like a musical instument. literally "hearing colors". 3 - because of point # 2, no two shows are the same. most vjs have films that they mix ahead of time and basically just "press play" at the gigs. running horse is involved in experiencing, dancing and reacting to the music as much as the guests. 4 - when possible he works closely with the dj. often he/she will say something like, "ok the next part i'm gonna step up the tempo a bit." this way he can ready a fitting vision ahead of time. running horse has been doing light shows since the days of laser discs and betamax. he used to do shows only for live bands, but has now in recent years started doing shows in discos and at open-air events. the largest event is the burg herzberg festival (http://www.burgherzberg-festival.de) in central germany with about 7500 guests from all over the world. he has had a very good reception in europe and is very happy and grateful to have moved to germany in 1993! he is always happy to meet other native americans here in europe in order to exchange experiences and ideas; and especially lakotas of course. send some smoke, and come for a visit!
