About Me |
|
Since 1985 the Mystic Jammers have been touring as the premier U.S. reggae band in the northeast. If you like the idea of Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix playing together then this is for you. Inspirational lyrics, tight vocals, monsterous bass and stellar lead guitar, this is true reggae and rock combined. Perhaps you have seen the live show, John Booth soloing while hanging upside down, or Lon Plynton dancing down the bar while playing bass, jumping over the drinks. Maybe you saw them with Stephen Marley or the Wailers, maybe your cousin's wedding. Then you are already downloading, booking or ordering. For you browsers, this is an exciting performing act, suitable for all occasions, that is a must for reggae and rock fans alike. We also offer party style caribbean/jazz music with Sax and steel drum. 'Highly percussive groove-adelic sound, part Afro-dance, part Caribbean hipsway.'-Bob Gulla. Funky, jazzy and tropical, Lon E and the Equal Rites band conjures up visions of hot Island nights. Explosive percussion and monsterous bass punctuates this smooth as silk music. 'Pulsating rhythms, smoky male vocals, steel drums combine in these seductive numbers.' Nimble fingered melodies ride a slinky afro-backbeat with lyrics that reach deep into the soul. -First Night Providence Musically, it's clear the Mystic Jammers have learned and digested not only the form of Reggae Idiom itself but the Soulful Spirit that motivated Jamaican pioneers...apart from the dance-happy music they turn out, the group hopes to inspire its audience to think as well as move _Bob Angell The Group 12-29-2006 Since
