About Me |
| A listen is worth a thousand words... ...with my cut down samples, we're probably good for maybe 300-400, although if we add the quantity of notes, 1..2..3..4.. ...ahh, just hang in there, I have some new music and projects on the way! Thank you much!!!! Sm | |
My Interests |
Music:Member Since: 9/13/2006Band Website: scottmotyka.com Band Members: ...me, myself, & Garageband for MAC, at least for the 07 samples. The plan is to put together a side project to support the CD of material to be finished by this year's end... I'm not interested in bass and percussion automatons as the samples might suggest, check back for the re-recorded samples fairly soon. Ideally, I'm looking to emulate to some degree an always growing, tight unit such as Jazz Pistols but dumbed down a bit, or about any traditional power instrumental trio which might not be so ego-centric-vocalist-post-trauma damaged, that they might be open to vocal oriented tunes being squeezed into a raw gutsy solo-centric, blues touched rock classic rock fusion vibe meets jam band mess -all modernized, metalized, yet organic and fresh. Send me a shout. contactmotyka@mac.com Influences: Jimi Hendrix, Yngwie Malmsteen, Angus Young, Paul Gilbert, Frank Gambale, Ace Frehley, Marty Friedman, Jason Becker, Allan Holdsworth, Steve Morse, Andres' Segovia, Augustine Barrios, Pat Metheny, Greg Howe, Tony Macalpine, Joe Satriani, Leslie West, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Shawn Lane, Alan Watts, John Coltrane, J.S.Bach, George Benson, Frank Marino, the whole crew from Friday Night in San Francisco, Jon Finn, Mick Goodrick...tba. Sounds Like: Santana morphed with Malmsteen, being served a nice strong, Long Island Iced Tea, no Gin, by guest evening bartender John Mclaughlin, while mitigating between Gambale and Di Meola on the merits of sweep picking versus alternate picking...after a night on the town hanging with Hendrix post jamming some Voodoo with Winwood, all while listening on the club's stage to Leslie West tear it up on his solo, of an arrangement of Mississippi Queen done by Jon Finn, with very special guests Paul Gilbert, Shawn Lane and John Coltrane taking solo spots respectfully. ...about then I woke up! The Second Impulse |
| Currently I'm digging into my 'second impulse'... long, long, ago, in a renowned music school not so very far away in Boston Ma, I was a student; in an "Improvisation Techniques" class, or something ... Posted by Scott Motyka on Sun, 29 Jul 2007 05:03:00 PST |
