| Simone Gubbiotti Simone was born in Assisi,Italy,September 22,1974 and he started practicing guitar as a self-taught going out with different local band in pop-rock contest. In 1998 he decides to study theory and harmony with the famous clarinet player Gabriele Mirabassi,discovering the passion for jazz and in general,for improvised music. He attends the Berklee College of Music summer school during Umbria Jazz Festival studying with Jim Kelly and Mark White.In this period Simone is involved in different musical combos and he plays in 1999 at Rieti Jazz Festival with Irio DePaula and Enrico Pieranunzi. He plays as a guitar member with the Perugia Big Band,the Orchestra was active in many jazz festival(Duke Jazz Festival) and poetry festival in Italy. In 2000 he plays in Paris with Pierre Cullaz and he meets Jim Hall in Ravenna attending classes of harmony,improvisation and ensembles. In 2001 he goes to Boston to visit some friend at Berklee College of Music and he studies with Jim Kelly and Jon Damian,the same teacher of Mike Stern and Bill Frisell.Here Simone can deepen his jazz language and his natural talent for composition. In 2002 he studies in Rome with Fabio Zeppetella and he attends the “Siena Jazz summer school” with Pietro Condorelli and Tomaso Lama.In the same year he wins a scholarship for the Berklee College of Music in Boston. In 2003 his choice is to move to Los Angeles and at Guitar Institute of Technology he meets the great educator Sid Jacobs.Simone has the possibility to study and play directly with the masters and he actually plays with Sid Jacobs,Joe Diorio,Joe LaBarbera,Dave Carpenter,Darek Oles,John Pisano and many others. In 2004 he records his first cd with Marco Collazzoni and Sid Jacobs called “Simykyo” playing an Italian tour after the recording session. Coming out the other cd recorded in April 2005 at No-Sound studio in Pasadina,Los Angeles with Marco Collazzoni,Joe LaBarbera,Darek Oles and Sid Jacobs. The quintet play all original music. Actually Simone lives between Italy and United States and he is active in different situations from the Big Band to Duo. He plays with: Terni Jazz Orchestra,Marco Collazzoni,Joe LaBarbera,Sid Jacobs,Riccardo Morpurgo,Darek Oles,Dave Carpenter,Joe Diorio,Joe Lovano,Danny Gottlieb. He played in: Terni Jazz Festival,Rieti Jazz Fesival,Duke Jazz Festival,Macerata Jazz Festival,Peperoncino Jazz Festival and many jazz clubs in Italy and Europe. He developed his personal Curriculum for Jazz Guitar.......
