Poverty's Thread's Creativity Exposed - March 13, 2008 - www.PovertysThread.com "Coming out of the city of Newark, New Jersey, 18 year old Anthony Morton has a bright future ahead of him. His love for art and creativity is evidenced in his diverse sources of inspiration. Clearly spiritual, and cultivated, Anthony says that he draws his creative inspiration from God, Hip Hop culture, a number of graffiti artist, Vincent Van Gough, Leonardo Di Vinci, Kehinde Wiley, James A. Willis, Mickalene Thomas, and many other greats of the past and present. He is also influenced by music. Anthony says that “he like’s to use music as a medium to bring a sense of rhythm and motion to his work which he expects to accentuate the viewer”. His musical influences can range from Eric B. & Rakim’s Paid in Full album to the smooth sounds of jazz guitarist George Benson. Anthony hopes that his work will transcend beyond Hip Hop culture, and be accepted by all cultures around the world. He is currently studying Fine Art’s at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, and interning for the Mickalene Thomas Studio.
