About Me |

| Doug Otto and the Getaways are a FIVE piece group performing original music and cover songs in old American music styles. Heavily influenced by delta blues and classic country songs, Doug plays the guitar and harmonica to accompany his singing. Rich Casey on the double bass with Chris Gray on the drums and backing vocals add a firm foundation to music with great sensitivity to the older stripped down versions of songs that have been sung and played for hundreds of years. Albert Perez on lead guitar adds an edgy and more spacious aspect to the music while holding great integrity to the song. Shane Akers plays electric lap steel guitar that can be classic country or raw edgy blues rock in sound. Otto and the Getaways perform original material with a range of influences. The blues scales and forms heavily influence the sound of Otto but the influences of classical music, simple folk songs hymnal music can be felt as well. | |
