| MyGen Profile Generator The Black Arrows formed in mid summer 2006 after a chance meeting in a local pub between SIMON THOMAS and SCOTT MaCDONALD. Both had been active in the buzzing Glasgow music scene for a few years, playing in different bands covering the same venues but without sharing any of the same bills. A bonding session was had over a few beers and the strengths of the local jukebox.Before the meeting, Simon had already enlisted the help of lead guitarist LLOYD REID and bassist BRIAN IMRIE. They then set about finding a backbone for the band, a drummer. After auditioning many and finding them all wanting, or as most of them seemed to be, unable to add to the direction of the band; the final band member added was CRAIG RICHARDSON.The Black Arrows played their first gig in early August 2006 in the Viper Club in Glasgow. The Carling Academy, King Tuts, Fury Murrays and Soundhaus followed and Liverpool, Edinburgh and Inverness have all fallen under the Black Arrows shadow.Since then the Black Arrows have went from strength to strength acquiring some well deserved acclaim within the Glasgow music scene and having narrowly missed out on playing at T In The Park, the Black Arrows were asked to play at the inaugural Live At Loch Lomond festival (and were the first band to have the tent closed to the public due to being "extremely over capacity" with security struggling to keep people out) add to that support slots with Dogs at King Tuts, The Law at Capitol and Captain Phoenix at Capitol also, 2007 will have been a good year for the band.Wait until you see 2008...'Mon The Arrows ! | |
