by B U ® A Z . com SANDRA NASIC & GUANO APES BIOGRAPHY Sandra has a unique voice for a female rock singer, able to cover the range of aggressive to lilting female vulnerability within a single song. Her style made her a standout in the music scene almost from the inception of her career. She has been compared by many to male singers such as Serj Tankian and Chino Moreno, as well as Skin from Skunk Anansie. System of a Down, Deftones and Korn are, in fact, some of Sandra's favorite bands, revealing her nu-metal, grunge and hardcore musical influences. In 2001, she was given an EinsLive Krone award for Best Singer. After Guano Apes completed a brief farewell tour in support of their greatest hits package "Planet of the Apes" in February 2005, she announced a solo career (signing with her former Apes' label Gun) with her debut album slated for a late 2006 release. As of August 2006, no word has come from Berlin (where she is recording) on whether or not the album is on track. Other collaborations include Apocalyptica and DJ Tomekk/Ice-T.
