About Me |
|
| Dickie D a.k.a William Danso was born in the early 80's to Wilhemina Opoku at Akim oda in the eastern part of Ghana. His father left before he was born and since then has never seen him. He was raised by his mother and grandmother(whom he referred to as his PARENTS) who are both Christians. They got him into church and at a very younger age Dickie started playing drums at the sunday school. He developed an interest in playing drums and there were no other day that he would not go to church to play the drums. He loved music right from there and always wanted to play the drums at church. At the age of ten, his parents moved from Akim Oda to Accra where he spent his teenage years. Not long after they had moved, his mother remarried and joined her husband in the States. Dickie lived in an area where highlife music and reggae was played at all times. He started listening to highlife legends like Amakye Dede, Nana Ampadu,C K Mann, and Pat thomas just to mention a few. He also listened to reggae artistes like Chaka Demus and Pliers, Shaba Ranks, Indian Apache, Buju Banton and many more. He started singing and performing copyright music at the junior secondary school level. His passion for reggae music grew more in high school when he met a reggae musician known as Francy B whom he eventually teamed up with. They performed and wrote many songs together and were famous for their unique style and sound during their time in school. After high school, they formed a group known as "ATEASEFOR". The group did not last long because he had to join his mother in the States to further his education. Dickie D since then has featured on many tracks both nationally and internationally. He has featured on some hiplife mixtapes and has two albums to his credit. He sings in English and his african dialect(Twi/Akan). His new album "Bome Nnyom No Biom"( Play me the song again) is in stores. It contains 15 banging tracks with with hit tracks like sweetie yensa, bome nnyom no biom, tweben me (remix), move ur body, do u really luv me n many more.
