| Après quelques premières parties ( High Tone, Mass Hysteria, La Phaze,
R-Wann de Java, Smooth, Didier Super, Kiemsa, Mansfield Tya...) et quelques dates enflammées dans l'ouest ou sur Paris ( Nouveau Casino, Le Chabada, Le Vip, L'Oasis, L'Olympic ...)
Le groupe sort son premier album sur Tapsit, le label qui lança Tinariwen. (distri: Anticraft) L'objet sera mixé par Iain Burgess au studio Blackbox. (Deus, Deportivo, Les Thugs ...)
MASHIRO sort ensuite un inédit sur la compilation Molecules 5 (téléchargeable sur le site de Jarring Effect) et un morceau sur la compilation des Lojo. (AZ / Universal)Le groupe travaille aujourd'hui sur les maquettes de son prochain album.
Un "électro-rock" mutant et sous tension, inventif, qui dérive parfois vers un folk atmospherique ou des ambiances "down tempo".
Un son finalement bien de chez eux, où Malika dévoile une voix décomplexée et sensible, souvent comparée à PJ Harvey pour la puissance ou Liz Frazer pour l'émotion.
MASHIRO est bel et bien un groupe angevin, mais ne renie pas pour autant ses inspirations anglo-saxonnes, voir même les assume sans tabou.
Côté scène, ça fait pas semblant. On pense à un mélange entre Sailor et Lula pour la
dégaine, Sleepers pour l'énergie, ou Ez3kiel pour les ambiances "électro".
Un voyage intemporel dont on ne ressort pas indemme.Tout cela fait de MASHIRO et sans aucun doute, un des groupes actuels les plus prometteurs de l'hexagone... B.A
