About Me |
|
PLEASE VISIT MY OFFICIAL WEBSITE: http://www.evathompson.com. I live in Brighton about 20 minutes walk from the sea. I play the sitar, a North Indian lute-like instrument and the veena, a South Indian string instrument. I also love acting, when I don't play music. :-) I was born in Budapest, Hungary, where I grew up fascinated by Indian culture and music. I trained in Bharatanatyam, a classic dance style from South India, and came to Britain to further my studies. I studied at the Bharatya Vidya Bhavan Institute in London for five years, and gained a First Class Diploma in Sitar playing. I have also studied the Veena, (an ancient South Indian stringed instrument) and Kathak dance, a classic dance style from North India. I am particularly interested in exploring the healing capabilities of music with the help of the Sitar and the Veena. I also play in two bands - The Sumerian Kyngs & Freeflow. I am married to Dave, a very funny comedian, writer and Teletubby (Tinky Winky). Veena Performance for Breast Cancer Care, June 2005 |
