| Layout made by Online Now Icons Born in Manchester, England in March 5 1958, late 70s pop sensation Andy Gibb was the younger brother of Australian-born musicians Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb - better known to the world as the Bee Gees. After trying his hand at show business for years, Andy launched a professional career as a pop singer in 1977. Andy's first three singles - "I Just Want to Be Your Everything", "(Love Is) Thicker Than Water", and "Shadow Dancing" - all reached No. 1, making him an international celebrity overnight. Subsequent singles like "Everlasting Love", "(Our Love) Don't Throw It All Away" and "Desire" also reached the Top 10.After the release of the 1980 LP After Dark, Andy's popularity plummeted as quickly as it had risen. He retreated to television, hosting "Solid Gold" during 1981 and 1982, and guest-starring on sitcoms like "Gimme a Break" and "Punky Brewster". he passed away from viral myocaditis in March 10 1988, only days after celebrating his 30th birthday.Myocarditis is inflammation or degeneration of the heart muscle. Myocarditis may be a complication during or after various viral, bacterial, or parasitic infectious diseases, such as polio, influenza, rubella, or rheumatic fever. It is often caused by various diseases such as syphilis, goiter, endocarditis, or hypertension, however, myocarditis may appear as a primary disease in adults or as a degenerative disease of old age. It may be associated with dilation (enlargement due to weakness of the heart muscle) or with hypertrophy (overgrowth of the muscle tissue). Individuals who smoke cigarettes have a higher mortality and risk of myocardial infarction than individuals who do not smoke. In some cases of myocarditis may progress to congestive heart failure, requiring hospitalization, heart failure medications, or cardiac transplantation. Cause of Myocarditis? Myocarditis is a caused by inflammation of the muscle of the heart. Although a variety of medical conditions can cause myocarditis, the most common cause is infection by viruses. Enteroviruses are recognized as the most common cause of myocarditis. Over many years, a chronic enterovirus heart infection and the bodys response to that infection in the heart can lead to irreversible heart muscle damage and heart failure. Around the time he died, his manager was negotiating a contract with Island Records and Andy was getting songs together. Unfortunately Andy never got into the studio to record them for release. There were however demos of songs he..d done with Barry and Maurice in Miami Beach around 1987 like ..Arrow Through The Heart.. and ..Man On Fireobject width="425" height="350" ..
