C'est aussi une rythmique énergique capable autant d'acrobatie que de finesse et de surprise. C'est enfin un répertoire de compositions originales arrangées pour ce quartet soucieux d'explorer tous les univers musicaux possibles.Après diverses rencontres aux sein d'un collectif de musiciens caennais fondé en 2001, le quartet GADJOLOGIE adopte sa forme définitive en 2005 : deux guitares, violon et contrebasse.D'abords composé de reprises de l'incontournable Django Reinhardt, le répertoire s'étoffe rapidement de compositions originales. L'idée est de garder l'énergie et la sensibilité du Jazz Manouche tout en développant une approche rythmique et harmonique résolument moderne.Fort de quelques belles rencontres scéniques ( Bireli Lagrène, Romane, Stochelo Rosenberg) et après deux démos 5 titres, le groupe enregistre onze compositions pour son premier album treize titres en mai 2007. Par soucis d'authenticité et de spontanéité, l'enregistrement se déroulera sur une semaine et en condition "live". Le résultat est une musique vivante, surprenante, passant du swing endiablé à la ballade des plus intimiste avec même une pincée de free jazz !Inspired by jazz and the gipsy ways, GADJOLOGIE is wild and melancholic at times. Its rhythmical energy will give you a sense of acrobatics, finesse and surprise. It’s also a repertoire filled with original material rearranged for this quartet, willing to explore many musical universes. After several tryouts with a musical collective from Caen (2001), GADJOLOGIE adopted its final form in 2005: two guitars, violin and double bass. At first, the music was solely based on their own versions of “Django Reinhardt’s” repertoire. It then evolved and original material was intertwined. The idea was to keep the energy and intensity of « Gypsy » Jazz, while developing an approach based on modern rhythms and harmonics. After lots of great live encounters ( Biréli Lagrène, Stochelo Rosenberg, Romane...), and two 5 songs demos, their first studio album, featuring all original material, was recorded in May 2007. To be faithful to their spontaneity and authenticity, the recording was made over a one week period and in “live” conditions.
