About Me |
|
| Lucid Reel gave an explosive performance at their CD launch last month to many delighted fans. Their bluesy mix of rock and roll cruised their enthusiastic audience through an evening of passionate and dynamic singing, great guitar solos, dazzling keyboard, pounding drums and a tight bass. They performed songs from their new release More than meets the eye. Their set included a few covers including Supertramp’s Bloody well Right. Lucid Reel were the band for the Christmas carols in the Win entertainment centre last Christmas and are booked for this year as well. They were also invited to play at the Vault cabaret show last year and have been a regular item at the Wollongong Unibar. They are currently playing at various venues to promote their new CD. It was an impressively large scale production featuring inspired by the fusion sounds of Bruce Hornsby and Pat Metheny as well as the timeless eclecticism of Supertramp. They formed their own orchestra for the album showcasing their own arrangements on a number of songs including their epic track 'Take me with you'; a soul searching heavy rock anthem with an intense interplay of band and orchestra. The album has been mixed by legendary producers Paul Najar and Peter Blyton and was mastered by Steve Smart at 301. Their sound is well refined and they are ready to take it to the streets. Their cocktail of soul, satire and smooth changes is served with a gut pounding back-beat. Three new songs added: three single versions from the new album More Than Meets The Eye Enjoy! | |
