Und ich weiß es jetzt!“Seine sehr persönlichen Songs beschäftigen sich mit eigenen Gefühlen und Erfahrungen aber auch Alltagsproblemen. „Wenn ich Songs schreibe, weiß ich vorher nie genau wohin die Reise geht. Textlich wie musikalisch kann alles passieren. Ich schreibe darüber, wie es ist, ständig abgebrannt zu sein, wie auch über nicht ganz ernst gemeinte Selbstmordgedanken enger Freunde.“Eingängige Harmonien, emotionaler Gesang und flüssiges Spiel stehen daher wunderbar im Einklang mit ausgereiften, nachdenklichen, aber auch verspielten Lyrics.Seit Ende 2006 wandelt Alex auf Solo-Pfaden, nachdem er 7 Jahre lang als Frontmann der Band „Queen Mom“ aktiv war. Knapp 70 Auftritte wurden seitdem bestritten; u.a. teilte er sich die Bühne mit namhaften Acts wie Kilians, Heinz-Rudolf Kunze, Ermöbel, Dirk Darmstädter, Carus Thomson oder auch Erfolgsautor und VISIONS Redakteur Oliver Uschmann.Unwiderstehliche Melodien gepaart mit klar strukturiertem Spiel, das ist der Stil von Alex Amsterdam. The Singer/Songwriter Alex Amsterdam (27 years old) has set off to break his way through the world. "Once in a life, you reach the point when you know what your right way is." His very personal songs mess about with own feelings and experiences but also with problems of everyday life. “When I write songs, I never know where the journey will go to. Everything can happen, doesn’t matter if it is textual or musical. I write about being steady dead broken and also ‘bout not serious suicidal thoughts of close friends”. Catchy melodies, emotional vocals and smooth guitars are gently in line with mature, reflective but sportive lyrics. Since the end of 2006, Alex is touring solo after being front man of indie-band “Queen Mom”. Nearly 70 gigs have been played since then.
