Influenced by different artists like Dennis Brown & Garnet Silk and mainly Yah Meek he soon developped his own style. But Yah Meek was his tutor who introduced him into the jamaican Lifestyle. By the time he hooked up with other artists who are successfully involved in the Dancehall business like germanys wellknown artist Gentleman or one of the topclass singers and producers named Richie Stephens. Gentleman launched a heavily rotated Track (Heat of the night) in 1999 where Tolga was involved. Their common video was shot in Jamaica along with Richie Stephens; Title went on heavy rotation in the local jamaican TV-music stations. Mighty Tolgas career was strongly influenced by Gentlemans first album single “Heat of the night” and their teamwork helped open up business connections. While he was joining several Shows with Soundsystems like Pow Pow (Cologne), Soundquake (Detmold) and many others, he withdraw the attention of different Labels and Record Companys. While he starterd to work on his debut album (1998) , he toured a lot on small and bigger shows with different soundsystems. He decided to launch his debut album (Now that I am here) in October 2000 with Warner Music Germany. For this debut, he recorded and worked with artists like Lady Saw, Lexxus, General Degree, Gentleman and many more. the songs were produced by big names like Richard Browne and other producers out of Europe (Roger & Shorty, Pionear). At the same time, dancehall had a big success in germany, so his debut was also a success and confirmation of his style. Several other 7” releases were released, like “Leave it onto him” on the “Superior” riddim produced by Pow Pow in Febuary, also “Dont let go” on the “Truth” riddim produced by Kingstone in April. Until today, Tolga wrote a lot of new songs and is realizing them with the help of friends like Yah Meek, Richie Stephens and many others. // BIOGRAFIE (deutsch) Der in Deutschland geborene und in Frankfurt am Main beheimatete Tolga entdeckte seine Leidenschaft für Musik schon früh, aber erst im Aletr von 17 begann er selber zu singen. Inspiriert von Größen wie Dennis Brown und Garnett Silk war er einer der ersten, die in Deutschland auf Patois sangen und fand schnell zu seinem eigenen Stil als Singjay, der ihn bis heute so unverwechselbar macht. Zur selben Zeit knüpfte er seine ersten Kontakte zu anderen bekannten Artists, Produzenten und Soundsystems. Eine der fruchtbarsten Kombinationen war sicherlich die mit Tilmann Otto, der als Gentleman weltbekannt ist. Die erste Single zu Gentlemans Album Trodin On war überaus erfolgreiche Heat Of The Night, eine Combination von Tolga und Gentleman, die bis heute populär ist. Zusammen mit dem jamaikanischen Produzenten und Sänger Richie Stephens wurde ein Video zu Heat Of The Night auf Jamaika gedreht, so dass der Tune dort sowohl im Radio als auch im Fernsehen auf Heavy Rotation lief und ein massiver Hit wurde. Der Erfolg führte dazu, dass nationale und internationale Musikgrößen auf Tolgas außergewöhnliche Qualitäten als Sänger aufmerksam wurden. So nahm er Songs zusammen mit den deutschen HipHop-Stars von Freundeskreis auf, war zusammen mit den Fantastischen Vier auf der legendären 4:99-Tour und arbeitete für sein Debütalbum Now That I Am Here mit internationalen Reggae-Stars wie Lady Saw, Lexxus und General Degree. Mit Degree nahm Tolga die Combination Hot Girls auf, die auch auf Degrees Album Oh Yeah veröffentlicht wurde und so ebenfalls international sehr erfolgreich war. Auch dieser Tune wurde mit einem Video auf Jamaika promotet. Der Erfolg dieses Tunes manifestierte Tolgas Status als Singjay von internationalem Format. Bis heute arbeitete Tolga mit zahlreichen internationalen Top-Künstlern und nahezu allen relevanten europäischen Soundsystems. Eine Vielzahl von Single-Veröffentlichungen, unter anderem auf Labels wie Pow Pow, Rootdown, Kingstone und Germaica, unterstreicht ebenso wie seine Präsenz auf wichtigen Samplern wie Dancehallfieber oder Premium Stars eindrucksvoll die Relevanz Tolgas für die deutsche Reggaelandschaft.
