THIS IS THE BANDS DEBUT RELEASE, AND WHAT A WAY TO START!!! POGO OR DIE - (Detour Records - Uk) Too Much For The City (Bondage) Italy New band of Italian Punk Killers! They sound a lot like the great Bingo whose singer produced this - (Underground Medicine - Usa) L'esordio dei ciociari Idol Lips, prodotto da Alex Vargiu (Bloody Riot, Bingo, Dissuaders), figura storica del punk rock romano, qui in veste di talent scout. E dimostra tutta la sua abilit.. anche in fase di registrazione, visto che "Too Much For The City" spacca che .. un piacere, ricco di episodi settantasettini che faranno la felicit.. di chi ama quel tipo di suoni. Nove brani e un tiro da paura, segno che il Lazio resta la regione con la pi.. alta densit.. di punk rock di tutta Italia... (Toni Tornado, Rock Sound-Speciale PUNK n.27) L'esordio dei ciociari Idol Lips ci tiene strettamente ancorati al territorio minato del punk '77. Malattia, perversione, stravizi e l'aria malsana della periferia putrida emergono prepotenti dai solchi del long playing "Too Much For The City" su Bondage/Hate. Ceccano (Fr) non ha dato i natali soltanto a quel troglodita del GF , ma anche a questi 5 farabutti affamati d'odio che anni fa bazzicavano il punk capitolino sotto la sigla Lady Killers. Per avere un'idea pi.. precisa dei 9 pezzi dell'album, pensate ai Testors che prendono a calci nel culo i New York Dolls oppure, rimanendo ai giorni nostri , alla furia iconoclasta dei Transex. Produce tale spettacolo Alex Vargiu (Bloody Riot, Bingo, Dissuaders), uno che si muove soltanto se ne vale davvero la pena...come in questo caso. (Manuel Graziani - SONIC, Ago-Sett 2006) The Idol Lips- Too Much For The City LP -Remember Homoplastik from Italy. Well probably not, but this new Italian band reminds me of a more nishistic version of that band. Just solid catchy vicious leads atop a wall of thundering bass, backed by some catchy dual vocal chorus. The Stitches took this brand of swaggering fuck all punk and made it a house hold name in the underground in the late 90..s. Well the Idol Lips are back to take over the throne with their own spite filled, piss n vinegar punk. Rich Bitch, Drinkin About You and Kick Your Ass pretty much exemplify what the Idol Lips are all about. Not hear to save the world, but they..ll probably have more boozed and coke filled stories in a month, than you ever will in your life. 9 tracks total, full color sleeve and the band self released it. Good shit, if yer keepin up! ( DEAD BEAT RECORDS USA) Che la “scena” punk-rock ‘n’roll capitolina vivesse una stagione particolarmente felice, se ne sono accorti, finalmente, anche i pi.. distratti commentatori di faccende sonore. Dopo le ottime prove delle grandi Motorama e degli emergenti Cactus, si uniscono al mucchio selvaggio gli Idol Lips, quintetto di scapestrati con il cuore fermo al 1977. Nove sberleffi di punk stradaiolo suonato come Dio (save the queen) comanda! Subissati da decine, centinaia, di produzioni, punk, emo, hardcore, spesso districarsi nella qualit.. diventa complicato, poich.. i mezzi tecnici permettono di confezionare prodotti di buon livello, dove .. anche facile cogliere la passione, ma .. ancora pi.. semplice annoiarsi. Con “Too much for the city” il rischio .. scongiurato, l’album scorre fluido, senza forzature e cadute di tensione, pagando il suo tributo (consapevole e felice di farlo) alla musica dei Damned, dei Buzzcocks ed in generale del primo punk inglese senza dimenticare di porre lo sguardo talvolta aldil.. dell’Atlantico; Dead Boys e New York Dolls fanno capolino qua e l... Chi .. alla ricerca di scatti in avanti e voli pindarici pu.. passare oltre, ma se i nomi sopra citati suscitano in voi sensazioni elettriche, il disco degli Idol Lips non mancher.. di soddisfare le vostre aspettative. (Rudi Borsella- NERO MAGAZINE) C'É ALEX VARGIU, OVVERO UN PEZZO DI STORIA DEL PUNK NOSTRANO, DIETRO L'OPERAZIONE IDOL LIPS. SI TRATTA OGGETTIVAMENTE DEL MIGLIOR DISCO PUNK ITALIANO DEGLI ULTIMI TEMPI. NOVE BRANI DI COATTISSIMO ROCK'N'ROLL COL PEPE AL CULO CHE VOLANO VIA VELOCI E ASCIUTTI, NOVE COLPI DI LAMETTA CHE GL'IDOL LIPS ASSESTANO CON MESTIERE E CINISMO. É UN SUONO VECCHIO STILE, TRA IL GLAM SBOCCATO ALLA DOLLS E IL PUNK DEGLI ALBORI (DAMNED, VIBRATORS), QUELLO DI "TOO MUCH FOR THE CITY", ROBA FUORI MODA E FUORI TEMPO MASSIMO. DEV'ESSERE STATO PROPRIO QUESTO A CONQUISTARE VARGIU: LA PUREZZA DEGL'IDOL LIPS, CONSCI DI NON AVERE UN FUTURO...ERA IL DISCO CHE ATTENDEVAMO PER RICONCILIARCI PER L'ENNESIMA VOLTA CON IL PUNK DELLE ORIGINI, IL MENO ADDOMESTICABILE IN ASSOLUTO.
