The very beginning of bands activity reaches far back to 2003. Then as an iniciative of bass player Piotr Zajdel and guitarist Darek Lebek the band started playing first rehersals in Piotr's HalfTurnCross Home Studio. First year of the bands activity constituted of composing songs and on recording samples of music, as well as far streached searching for musicians to complement the band.Two of present at the demo songs "Beyond my mind" and "Their sick fates" were written at that time. In 2004 a drummer Tomasz Drabik joins the band, after some initial problems with finding a rehersal room the band started playing in live lineup. Back in 2004 the name of the band was Tension Zero, which was later shortened to Tension. The trouble with finding other musicians lasted until summer 2005, when Michal Urban joins Tension. New musicians have influenced the sound of tension, until now tension used sampled drum tracks and programmed keyboard, some songs were completely rearanged and few new were written. In this (instrumental at the time) lineup Tension played its first gig in "Rejs" club in Rzeszow, and discouraged by failure to find a lead singer recorded a instrumental demo. Drums were recorded in "Rejs" Studio in 2006, other instruments were recorded at Piotr's "HalfTurnCross" Home Studio. While working on demo Tension has not ceased searching for a front man/lady and in late Spring came across Basia Lubas, who after just one rehersal joined Tension. After few weeks of rehearsing Basia managed to record vocals making a complete demo of Tension. Promo version of “Beyond My Mind Demo 2006” containes only 3 from 7 recorded tracks. During the 2007 band played some gigs in Poland ang has changed the line-up. Drummer Tomek Drabik and keyboard player Michal Urban has left the band. In the beginning of 2008 Wawrzyniec Fularz became a new drummer. We also resign from keyboarsds and synths. At present Tension works hard to produce new material to be recorded soon. There are many tracks ready for recording, which will hopefully take place near Autumn. Tension is currently looking for a label interested in releasing the full album |
