There have been many light skinned artist in the underground scene to become noticed and lyrically defined. All Hip Hop MC's have great stories to tell. Many even become Hip Hop Icons and role models to our children and our teenage youth around the world. Born in Harlem NY,25 years ago young JoeyBattz a.k.a Joseph Muniz was a child destined for great achievements. Battz was raised on Long Island in the town of Central Islip. After loosing his parents at a young age, Battz keeps his promise to them, to never give up on his dreams. Battz is a high school graduate and a extremely focused artist. A few years later, Battz had a beautiful baby boy named Matthew, giving him all the more reason to never give up, untill the unthinkable happend. Joey was hit by a flatbed tow truck in the beginning of 2006. He almost lost his life early that evening. But God has other plans for Battz, so Joey kept it moving and recovered better than expected. With his second chance at life, Battz found strength to build an ultimate hip hop movement conjoining his label ShookDown Entertainment, with DistantWorld Records. Battz has signed his first artist and great friend, Bravo The Vulgar Bastard. Together Battz and Bravo make powerful hits and create many hood remix's. Joey Battz is a Puerto Rican/German lyricist who has one of the most distinctive voices to come along in a while. His uncanny ability to switch his voice from Battz, to his alter ego Jevar Ethnic, will certainly entertain just about any listener. The D DUBB.. MOVEMENT!!! lets get this movement started! how many of ya'll are tired of hearing the same 6 songs on the radio? how many of you are fed up with todays music all sounding the same? i believe it is time we start expanding our horizons and looking beyond todays top artists to make the top chart number one hits! how many of you feel todays hiphop music is getting old and maybe we need to do some spring cleaning and add new artists and new labels, and see somenew talent on mtv and bet and hot 97 93.7 and all the other flavor stations.. underground hiphop is on a serious movement, with Distant World Record's recording artist Joey Battz at the top. He is a lyrical genius, a profound writer and an impeccable performer.
