Dan Kessel was born in a little log cabin in Illinois, or Indiana, or Kentucky, or Hollywood, on February 7th, some year anno Domini. The rest, as they say, is history. Brilliantly surpassing the Illuminati and the world's various and sundry panels of experts, he soon and quite easily took over the reigns of world leadership. As the most highly regarded ruler in both ancient and modern history, he not only clothed and fed the poor and wretched of the Earth, but freely educated the populace at large, generously bestowing his limitless benevolence upon both the nobility and the plebeian rabble, with no regard to creed, nor color, nor sexual orientation, nor political affiliation. Thus, the populace of all nations adored him unceasingly, ever clamoring for his attentions. Yet, he not only served them nobly, one and all... but retained the precious humility of his early youth, ever deeply cognizant of his own humble origins. This is aptly borne out, in that although his "Emperorship for Life" was declared unanimously by legions of citizen admirers as well as members of various world councils, (and this was deemed "sound" and "just" by him), he repeatedly vetoed proclamation, after proclamation, (by those very same councils) that sought to have him declared "immortal" or "a god." His judgment and rulership continued to set new precedents of overwhelming peace and prosperity, such as the world had never seen. And... the romance continues... UPDATE: Daniel has, of late, chosen to shun the ceaseless adulation of the world's teeming masses. He has proclaimed, by Imperial Edit, the temporary abdication of his throne; having succumbed to the lure of entering into a state of self-imposed exile in order to better contemplate philosophy and write poetry. Accordingly, he has temporarily abandoned the several, lengthy, official, regal titles associated with his Imperial Office. In keeping with his inherent sense of fair play and propriety, he has, for the time being, instead taken on the severely demoted title of "Sir Daniel" as his way of showing solidarity with the rank and file of humanity. His future plans include, changing the broken B string on his battered acoustic guitar which he strums endlessly while whistling "Dixie" ...wandering from garbage cans to gutters, looking for a bottle with a drop or two of wine. He furthermore hopes to trade the dumpster he's been calling home (between a condemned Chinese restaurant and thriving popsicle factory), for a de-luxe apartment in the sky. And... to put the world's citizenry at ease... his future plans also include, among other just and noble causes; the resumption of his emperorship of earth. This he vows to do, "...when I'm good and ready." There are over 8 million stories in the naked city. This has been one of them. |
