VanVechten Smith:
a short biography VanVechten Smith got his first guitar at the age of three. He was in the studio and touring by sixteen years of age; owning his own recording studio by twenty-one. From opening shows for “Major Label” acts to headlining shows in hundreds of venues of all shapes and sizes, VanVechten has lived, loved and breathed music all of his life.

Lending his unique style of playing, VanVechten’s skillful guitar techniques and strong song writing capabilities have added style, power and a tasteful flavor to multiple bands, with numerous original songs and recordings, including 5 full length CD’s and countless EP’s. Signing a worldwide recording contract with RMG, as well as a European licensing deal with NOISE RECORDS, brought a successful European tour as well as MTV, radio, and considerable magazine coverage.

Bringing his vast stage experience to every show, VanVechten adds excitement and an explosive feel to every stage he plays. While leaving the audience feeling the emotion, purpose and message behind each song, the dynamics of the live show flood the senses; creating a well-rounded, unforgettable experience.

Finally “going solo” on his last album, “BoneShovel”, brought VanVechten’s distinctive and powerful vocal style to the forefront while adding the melodic and catchy groove that has become so characteristic in his music today.

His latest release, “The Bridge”, is centered on his strong Christian faith. After loosing everything, and having a devastating bout with drugs and alcohol, he found a new purpose in God. This album attempts to capture the magnificent feeling that comes when suddenly, you realize that all is not lost. The Bridge is about faith, forgiveness and finding that "thing" that you just can’t put into words. It is fun, exciting and full of life. It is dedicated to the true and only bridge between this broken world and the perfect one awaiting us… Jesus Christ.
