About Me |
I hate housework. I'm a good cook but I hate washing up. I love the garden but I don't like the hard work needed to make the garden look beautiful. Well, however much we may love or hate anything, we gotta get on with life, and do what we must, if only putting in the minimum effort. After 30 years of research, then writing and rewriting and looking for literary agents and publishers to publish my novel, I have finally succeeded. My novel, "A Family Of Strangers" was published December 2006 in the US -- a beautifully hardcover edition. You can order my book online from: Amazon.com Barnes&Noble You can download the PREQUEL in two parts for 49 cents each, at Amazon.com: Sanchona - A Family Of Strangers - Prequel Part I Sanchona - A Family Of Strangers - Prequel Part II
WELL!! Now, I can justify my years and years of neglecting my house and garden with "And didn't I get my novel published?" So will I continue to neglect my house and garden? What do you think???? You BET! I have a sequel to write!!!

My Interests |
This is my book trailerMy real interest is reading fiction. It doesn't call for high maintenance. I don't have to remember to water them or feed them. I don't have to lavish time and attention on them. More, they keep me entertained, and if I cannot go to sleep, I have a trusty few that works better than sleeping pills.

I'd like to meet:Friends! Old friends and NEW friends. I'd like to make many, many new friends here on MySpace. I'd like to connect with people who share my interests, who enjoy the same things I do: I read a lot, mostly fiction, especially historical fiction, women's fiction, historical saga. I also read romances, westerns, thrillers and mysteries too. I like people who enjoy the same old old songs/music of yesteryears and movies--classics as well as the box office hits of today. I also love people with an attitude. I wish I could be as confident to have one too! And I surely admire people who champion causes. Most of all, I'd like to meet readers and discuss books. If you happen to have read my book, I would love to hear from you. I'm not here to promote anybody else's products. Promote your products on your page, and be friends with me.

Music:I love music, especially lyrical music with vocals, where I can hear the words, where the words are not offensive, just corny. I like to listen and sing along. |
Movies:I love the ones they categorise as "drama". I love those that make me weep buckets. Comedy is great, but not the "slapstick" stuff. I enjoy westerns, and sci-fi too. |
Television:There isn't much to interest me on television these days. I'd rather read fiction for entertainment. Do check out my publisher, Thomson Gale/Five Star's "Authors Group" page here: FIVE STAR AUTHOR GROUP |
Books:I like bestselling novels -- i.e. popular or mainstream fiction. I'm happy to follow the herd. If so many people love a bestselling book, I reckon "so many people" cannot be wrong! These readers have done me a favour by vetting the novels for me. I have enjoyed books by Nelson de Mille, Judith McNaught, James Clavell, Edna Ferber, Lloyd Douglas, Jennifer Fallon, David Gemmell, Georgette Heyer etc. -- in no particular order. |
Heroes:The word "heroes" gives me the shudder. I can only think of "dead heroes" -- people called to do their "duty" and die in the process. I prefer my "heroes" to be "ordinary" people, people who may be flawed, but people who are alive and caring -- people who can confront and resolve difficulties, when such difficulties occur. Indeed life is imperfect, the timeline punctuated with pain and sorrow. Anybody who can negotiate their way through life's pitfalls, who strives to do their best is my hero and my list would definitely include my parents.
