Buckley, Jr., Penn Jillette, Bill Gates, and John Updike make this book a stirring and provocative trip inside the minds and hearts of a diverse group of people whose beliefs, and the incredibly varied ways in which they choose to express them, reveal the American spirit at its best. Before coming to the U.S. in 1971, Dr. Pius Kamau studied medicine in Spain, England and his native Kenya. A thoracic and general surgeon, Kamau also writes a column for the Denver Post. He is currently organizing a medical group to work in Sudan. And here author Michael Shermer discusses his newest book The Mind of the Market: Compassionate Apes, Competitive Humans, and Other Tales from Evolutionary Economics. | |
