About Me

Although he was raised in London, Ontario, Alan Heffernan was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1985. At the age of fifteen Alan began to familiarize himself with the local music scene. Alan used his talents in the business, management, and promotion aspects of London’s music scene. After high school Alan, with the help of close local DJs, created and hosted a weekly radio show called “Constant Hype,” which aired on the University of Western Ontario radio station 94.9 FM. Having greater aspirations, Alan pursued a business endeavor with prominent local artist Strik 9 (Jason Huie). Together, Alan and Jason established local management/promotion company LoCity Entertainment. LoCity inducted prominent local artist “FLEX” and contributed in the marketing and promotion of FLEX’s self-titled debut album released in 2007. As time progressed Alan established relationships with artists, promoters, producers and managers across Canada. These relationships influenced Alan to enroll in the Music Industry Arts program at Fanshawe College as a means to solidify his background as a seasoned Producer, Manager, and Engineer of music. LoCity Entertainment has since expanded to the West coast with new locales, including the opening of the Vancouver studio and LoCity’s new headquarters. South Western Ontario artists Bill Maka aka “Mad Mak” and “Ray Black” of OKAY CITY (http://www.myspace.com/okaycityhiphop), also former graduates of Fanshawes Music Industry Arts Program, have made the move out west along side LoCity. This collaborative initiative by both companies will enable the launch of LoCity and OKAY CITYS future endeavors. To start off West-coast operations LoCity is working in collaboration with indie-juggernaut Foreseen Future Productions to expand their influence and bring more attention to the fertile independent market of the West coast.
