| Welcome to the Official Elysium MySpace page! Wondering what that band playing next Friday sounds like? Want to meet some of our regulars? Well, this is the place to do just that. You can visit just about any of the bands that play Elysium on our Friends Page, as well as discover the music we play, in general. You can also view flyers for upcoming events and past shows in our Pics section. Look around! You may just be able to find out the answers to all your questions right here...General InformationElysium has been serving Austin's underground nightlife since 2001. We are located at 7th and Red River, downtown, and are open from 9:30pm until 2:00am, Tuesday through Sunday.Payment: Elysium’s cover charge varies nightly… check the Upcoming Shows page for more info. Cover must be paid in cash at the door; there are no advance ticket sales to special events, unless otherwise noted. VISA/MC/AMEX/Discover are accepted at the bar. There are numerous overpriced ATMs in the area. The nearest is at Beerland, right next door on Red River. Ages: Currently we are admitting 21 and over with valid ID.Dress code: What dress code? While we encourage fabulousness always, everything from jeans to chains is acceptable.Booking: Elysium hosts and promotes live bands and other special events every Thursday and Friday night. To get in on the party, please note the following information and submission procedures: Live music events are limited to synth-pop, ebm, gothic, industrial, rock & alternative rock and electronica genres, except for the occasional out-of-the-ordinary yet fantastic musical experience. Other events we will consider hosting are alternative and fetish fashion shows, sideshow performances, or pretty much anything strange and unusual that may not fit in at your run-of-the-mill nightspots. Send us a message if you are interested in booking a show!Promoting: Yes! We actually make our own flyers! Julie and Marcos design and print the majority of Elysium's flyers, but if you don't prefer the handiwork of Marlie Creations, feel free to ask us to print your own designs! Just follow these rules: Flyers are printed on Wednesday nights preferably two weeks before the event. We need the design prior to that time, or Julie will just end up doing one herself. Preferred size is 3.75" by 5", and preferred resolution is 300dpi. Please include Elysium's address (705 Red River, Austin, TX), the cover price and door times, and "21+ only." You can send good quality .jpegs directly here, or bring Photoshop .psds to Julie at Elysium on CD or portable USB drive. *Note* Do not give portable drives to anyone BUT Julie if you ever want to see them again! We aren't thieves, but some people tend to misplace things, is all. Also, the largest we can print anything currently is 8" by 10". So if you want anything larger than that you're still stuck with nameless commercial printing business. Sorry. |
