| Il nome della band è ispirato al famoso Chelsea Hotel di New York, dove nei primi anni ‘70 alloggiavano personaggi quali Patti Smith, Janis Joplin, Leonard Cohen, Andy Warhol, e molti altri (al quale Stanley Bard dava ospitalità accettando come garanzia di pagamento d’affitto le loro opere). Alle ragazze è piaciuta l’idea di dare una possibilità ai talenti emergenti, che stava alla base del Chelsea Hotel.
Le Chelsea Hotel hanno girato l’Italia esibendosi nei principali live club: Alcatraz e Rolling Stone in Milano, Jailbreak di Roma, Arena e Palalido di Milano, e in numerosissimi altri club in tutta Italia, esibendosi tra l’altro a Mtv Supersonic e a All Music. nel 2005 hanno partecipato all'edizione di San Remo Rock arrivando nei gruppi finalisti. nel 2006 hanno preso parte a “Donne in rock” e “Roxy bar”, due festival diretti da Red Ronnie. Tutta questa esperienza live si è concretizzata nella realizzazione di un album registrato al Larione 10 di Firenze, dal titolo “A PROPOSITO DI DONNE..” che vedrà la luce quest'autunno su etichetta Ultratempo. È un disco introspettivo in cui il filo conduttore è il disagio provato da queste ventenni nel percorso di crescita e maturità personale, analizzato in relazione al sociale e alla propria interiorità. Dal punto di vista prettamente musicale, il disco si snoda in più direzioni grazie alle diverse influenze che hanno caratterizzato l’evoluzione di ogni singolo membro del gruppo generando un sound ibrido tra ritmiche funky-rock e melodie pop.
