| Matyas Kelemen was born in Transilvania, Romania and moved to New York City at the age of nine. Growing up in NYC, he developed a distinct taste of music influenced by its diverse culture and endless nightlife possibilities. Through his diverse range of experience, when playing Matyas knows how to provide unique elements in order to create audio-visual journeys from festival stomping grounds in the heart of Brazil to nightclubs and events around the world.
A classically trained fine artist and cinematographer at Parsons School of Design, Matyas grew up in a production studio environment, and started experimenting with multi media art and audio visual installations in the Brooklyn underground scene of the nineties. At age fifteen he started working as a promoter at the Tunnel night club, and soon after started working as a full time VJ as well as DJ at various New York City night clubs. Along with his brother David Dienes, (A.K.A.The Trancemuter) they began to co-host industrial style raves and gatherings with the goal of combining multi media art with dance events, integrating performance art with live video mixing, live musicians and DJs in custom designed and built environmental installations. In 2001, Matyas founded Reality Engine, a multi media art collective specializing in event design and audio-visual production / performance. Working on a wide variety of productions ranging from music videos, fashion, film and documentary, post production, special events and theater. In 2004 joining forces with Alex Grey of COSM gallery in NYC, together with Eli Morgan they co-created the EntheoCentric Salon. A series of events inspired by the Seventeenth Century French art salons, where discussion, dance performance, live painting, electronic music were all brought together in a celebration of cultural fusion and live art. July of 2005, Kathi Von Koerber and Matyas made a main stage video installation for Trancendence, one of the most respected electronic music events in Brazil. After returning for several one month tours, in December of 2006, Matyas went to Brazil with Infected Mushroom as their personal VJ for the 2006/2007 Brazil tour. In 2007 worked for one year with Tribe, one of the biggest event production companies in Brazil, making events of 20,000 plus people sometimes on a monthly basis. An Audio-Visual DJ and producer, also facilitated a tour for Alex Grey in Brazil, and is now in the process of finishing the "Tribe Journey" DVD. While in Brazil, Matyas shared the stage with some of the biggest names in electronic music and demonstrated his Audio-Visual performance at most of the major internationally knows events: Cachoiera Alta, Creamfields, Euphoria, Kaballah, Orbital, Universo Paralello, Tribe, Tribaltech, Soul Vibes and many more.
