About Me

This profile was edited with Thomas' Myspace Editor V3.2b

Organized chaos pretty much sums up this gal's life. Singer/songwriter (and half-assed guitar player) Lori Cherry was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York where she began her singing career in church...sounds so cliche, but it's true (although she hasn't been inside a church in many years because she doesn't own a hard hat). After singing in several bands throughout the 80's/90's and living the stereotypical sex, drugs and rock-n-roll lifestyle, old New York grew cold on her...so in 1997, she left everything behind and ultimately adopted Treasure Island, Florida as her permanent home. For a while, she supported herself by playing solo gigs at beach bars and private parties but eventually became disillusioned with being forced to sing Bobby McGee night after night. So, after a couple of years, she found herself a day job providing administrative support at a local non-profit agency that counsels at-risk adolescents. In the interim, she was delighted to discover a vast pool of musical talent in her new surroundings and eventually developed close friendships with many local musicians. Lori felt blessed when these gifted friends agreed to contribute to her debut CD, High Falutin', which was released in the Spring of 2005. More recently, she books gigs (or crashes friend's gigs) whenever she feels the need to get her ya-yas out. Myspace Backgrounds
