PUNK PLANET (2007) CREEPING JIMMYARE MEMBERS FROM :Against All Authority, Middle Finger Mob, UFC , HellHounds, Sound 4 Sound, F , FWA, SLOTH, The Hangovers "WITH A SOUND AND FURY ALL THERE OWN "CREEPING JIMMY" COMES OUT OF NOWHERE WITH A 6 SONG DEMO HITS LIKE A SWIFT KICK TO THE HEAD. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A LONG TIME I'VE GOTTEN A CD THAT HAS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE. A GOOD MIX OF SKATE-CORE , OLD SCHOOL HxCx, AND DIRTY ROCK'NROLL PUNK , THAT LEFT THIS REVIEWER WANTING MORE , MORE AND MORE. I CAN SEE BODIES AND LIMBS FLYING EVERYWHERE AT THEIR SHOWS. FOR A BUNCH OR OLD FARTS THESE GUYS STILL PLAY LIKE I BET THEY DID IN THEIR TEENS. GREAT AND THOUGHTFUL LYRICS FROM ALL SINGERS (THEY SWITCH OFF BETWEEN THE 2 GUITARIST AND DRUMMER) FROM THE CONTENT OF LYRICS AND ANGST IN THE RIFF'S YOU CAN TELL THESE GUYS HAVE LIVED SOME HARD FUCKING TIMES. OVERALL A MUST SEE IF THEY COME THROUGH YOUR SCENE AND A MUST CHECK OUT FOR IF YOU HAPPEN TO LIKE GOOD MUSIC ! I.R.A./HELLHOUNDS "SIDE BY SIDE" (BudsRecords) By: Abel Folgar Article Published: Aug 10, 2006 For their opening half, I.R.A. turns out a well-produced and recorded product. The levels are just right, and Monika's drumming and vocal work has never sounded better. Viola's vocals and guitar work are on par with his 20 years buzz-sawing through Latin American red tape. "¿Quien es el Burro?" ("Who is the Ass?"), "Deja Vivir" ("Let Them Live"), and "Pompa Fúnebre" ("Funeral Home") are solid tracks assembled solely for the joy of pogoing and drinking ice-cold beer with your friends. The Hellhounds' side continues with the brazen hardcore, injecting a little humor with some samples and letting the angst guide the speed and cadence of the tracks. "Time to Give a Fuck," "Haymarket Square," and "Side by Side" are old-school punk jams with sing-along choruses and enough melody to keep your head bopping while you circle-pit yourself into a frenzy. On the heartfelt "Caroline," the Hellhounds prove they can slow it down and sweeten things up. All in all, this split disc is a solid bridge for two American punk-rock bands.
