Profile GeneratorWie zijn wij? 'Wij' zijn Berry en Rian. Je kent ons wellicht als
de voormalige eigenaren van Blues-Rock Café Simple in
De Kwakel.
In 1987 begonnen we daar met het maandelijks programmeren
van live-muziek, vooral blues en rock.
Gedurende 12 heerlijke jaren zette de ene na de andere
band - zowel bekend als onbekend - onze gezellige kroeg op
z'n kop: de muren staan nú waarschijnlijk
nog bol en het dak moesten we in die tijd regelmatig
opnieuw bevestigen!Het was een onvergetelijke tijd, maar in 1999 was voor ons
de koek een beetje op.. tijd voor een nieuwe uitdaging:
Time to move on! Sindsdien hebben we uiteenlopende
dingen gedaan en zijn we ondertussen gaan brainstormen over
nieuwe mogelijkheden op het gebied van live-blues.
Na de tropenjaren in ons café besloten we daar ruimschoots
de tijd voor te nemen: We maakten waanzinnige motorreizen,
o.a. door de U.S.A., waar we meermalen terugkeerden naar
The Deep South:"Land of Juke Joints, cotton fields, long straight roads, wide
open skies, deserted crossroads and -of course-
The BLUES."Ook 'Good Old Chicago' (Illinois) en de Stevie Ray Vaughan
Remembrance Ride & Concert in Dallas (Texas) ontbraken
niet op deze waanzinnig leuke bluestours.
Tijdens onze gemotoriseerde omzwervingen werden we
geïnjecteerd met een overweldigende dosis BLUES in al zijn
vormen: Chicago Blues, Texas Blues en The Lowdown and
Dirty Mississippi Delta Blues... We gingen Back To The
Roots en op zoek naar:. What 's happening? Inderdaad,
héél vervelend allemaal, but.....somebody had to do the job! ;).Inspiratie te over! Inmiddels hebben we dus een nieuwe
uitdaging gevonden:Bikes 'n Blues is het nieuwe bluespodium van Rian en Berry, met als doel het organiseren van top-bluesconcerten in de sfeervolle no-nonsense ambiance van locatie HET GALJOEN in Amstelveen. Een keer per 2 á 3 weken zal een gerenommeerde Nederlandse of buitenlandse bluesband het podium van Het Galjoen beklimmen om er een groots muzikaal feest van te maken.Bikes 'n Blues brengt alleen de beste bluesmuzikanten naar Het Galjoen in Amstelveen, want ONLY THE BEST IS GOOD ENOUGH!That's for goddamn sure and you know that's right!Website: www.bikesnblues.nlInfo: info@bikesnblues.nl |
