Damien Fernandez was born 1982 in Adelaide South Australia. Born into a talented family of musicians, Fernandez was surrounded by music and musical instruments his entire childhood. At the tender age of five Damien learned his first chords on guitar and within a year was playing full songs. Damien got his first taste of performing at a local battle of the bands. 14 years old Fernandez got up on stage in front of 1500 people and performed Jimi Hendrix „Little Wing“ solo on the electric guitar.. the applause was deafening...and addictive. Fernandez formed a rock band of his own and returned to the battle of the bands the next year.. and won All through Damien‘s teens he was obsessed with music. Constantly playing with other musicians (typically much older than him) writing songs and mastering many different instruments...even playing hookey from school and hiding in the music suite to play As a way of affording studio time Fernandez at only 16 years old used to engineer and track bands in a 16 track analog recording studio in Port Adelaide. Damien would set up, engineer and record band‘s (mostly local punk and grunge bands cutting low budget demos) in return Damien was able to use the studio for some of his own demos. The recording bug was caught. From then on Fernandez could think about nothing else, he knew he had found his calling Fernandez has since opened the show for some of today‘s hottest artists including , Pit Bull, Lil Jon, Sean Paul, Sisqo, Naughty by nature , Cypress hill & Flava Flav, Korrupt, the Luniz, Akon, And has performed at private parties for Usher , Ja rule and DMX Damien had numerous underground releases such as Let U go EP (2001) Phat chronic volumes one and two (‘03 & ‚04) The Damien Fernandez Show (2005) Down2nite EP (2006) but it wasn't till late 2007 when Damien made his first Mixtape THE WORLD IS MINE that he fully had earned his place as one of urban music‘s hottest young stars. The Mixtape was essentially the first of it‘s kind. An RnB mixtape, All songs containing the original artist and hooks. Indeed this was much less a Mixtape, more the first ever REMIX ALBUM. The buzz was instant. The hype...overwhelming! Literally hundreds of posts sprung up all over the internet with links to the Mixtape. Worldwide internet forums , promo websites and right here on myspace everybody started raving about the kid from Adelaide who came out of no where and destroyed 17 of 2007‘s highest charting club tracks A new star was born and a new nickname that would become infamous THE REMIX KING Damien is currently working on his first commercially released album, the RnB community is buzzing with anticipation about this exciting new project. One of the songs „FOREVER“ was featured in a new chris brown remix. In less than 48 hours over 260, 000 people downloaded the song solidifying Damien „SIX3“ Fernandez as the man to watch in 2008 |
