But you may be looking for something more. Something that will show you the depth and breadth of Western culture, and also add some glamour to your life. Well, that's where I come in! I am Polly Deluxe. That’s a stage name, of course. Born to an aristocratic family, I was always destined to serve the nation. And that’s exactly what I do, by letting the world see my amazing talent to sing, dance, act and generally INSPIRE! But even when you're blessed with such talent, life's not easy. I'm sure word of the voting travesty for my Eurovision song contest entry reached even the Amazon rainforest. And my stint as a Bond girl didn’t lead to the acclaimed acting roles I so desired. All these setbacks – and personal difficulties - led to a spell in rehab. But watch out world, I’m BACK – with a whole range of exciting projects! Many people say the last thing I should be doing is stepping back into the public eye. But I’m not a fame junkie, not any more. I simply owe my faithful fans the story behind my rise and fall! After a triumphant sell-out show at the Candy Bar, Brighton, as part of a six night run on the Brighton Festival Fringe, you can now see me at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival! These fringe events are rough and ready, bring your own red carpet affairs, but it's worth it to get in touch with ordinary, down-to-earth folk. A talented cast re-enact the most exciting moments of my life, organised by wonderful theatre company SomethingElse. They needed my help, of course, to become the best that they can be...The writer's gone away for a long rest now, but without a great struggle, you can't produce great art.I will be sure to update you with my progress. I'd like to meet:I've met everyone I've ever wanted to meet, really, and they're often disappointing! I don't want to name names, but there's celebrities out there more botox than flesh. They make cybermen look human. No, I've got over my partying years and now I want to meet normal, everyday folk, maybe touched by some tragedy, who I can help. I like to visit hospitals and do charity work, telling tales of my personal woes so they can see even the beautiful and talented have problems. |
