Helfahrt arise with their second Album "Wiedergang" from the icy terrain of the Alps to take their rightful place amongst the leaders of the Pagan-Metal-Movement. Authenthic Black/Pagan Metal that awaits with an unheard mixture between rough riffing, harsh vocals and traditional folk-melodies. Recorded and mixed in the famous Helion-Studios (Equilibrium, Lunar Aurora ...), Helfahrt will strenghten the old and forgotten way and spirit of true Pagan Metal. Fans of old Ulver, Helheim & Kampfar will love this output! Helfahrt stands for atmospheric but agressive Pagan Metal, which has an extraordinary status because of the usage of different flutes, mouthharps and other tradiotional instruments. The contents and lyrics of the young band from Munich, are about the mythology and customs of the cultures of the alps but also you can find influences of the Germanic mythology in the lyrical aspects embedded. Live-Shows full of emotion, innovative Song-structures and merciless vocals are the label of the five pagan-minded musicians, who could reach within a short period of time a high status in the pagan metal scene. After playing with bands like Korpiklaani,Graveworm, Kampfar or Equilibrium, the band did a nearly two weeks lasting tour with the Norwegian Viking Metal band Helheim, which brought the band to venues in nearly whole middle-Europe. After their first output “Sturmgewalt” and a contract with Twilight Vertrieb - the band is now composing on new songs for their coming album, which will approx. be released in the end of 2007/beginning 2008. Formed in late 1999 by the bass player of the melodic Black Metal band SYCRONOMICA, the original idea of Helfahrts music was to create folkloric music with the usage of instruments like different types of flutes, jewsharps and acoustic guitars with the aim to create melancholic moods as well as the dark and esthetical background of natures spirits. With the use of an electrical guitar, the music became faster and harder. When the first problems with composing new material occurred, Max Marquardt started to search for further musicians to form a proper lineup. Relatively quickly a drummer was found but due to his lack of time and motivation he left the band after just two months. In spring 2004, the position of the second guitar player was filled by Dominik Langner and the first black metal songs were composed. Just a few months later another guitar player as well as a bass player, Sebastian and Tobias Ludwig, initiators of the black metal band NEBELMYTHEN, joined the band and introduced new ideas and compositions. With Andreas Mecker (ex-Banner of Wrath) the band could find a very talented and enthusiastic drummer and from this time on a serious line up was formed. Since then, Helfahrt is not a project anymore but a proper band. The music has not changed significantly and the original aim still exists. But by now also themes like the old traditions of southern Bavaria as well as the inheritance of forgotten cultures are to be found in the lyrical backround and the songs of HELFAHRT. The first Demo CD entitled –AUFBRUCH- has been released in late autumn 2005 and is a cross-section of the compositions of HELFAHRT. In summer 2006 the band released their first full-length-album "Sturmgewalt" whis has been totally sold out within in a short period of time. In the end of 2007 the band signed a new contract with the german Pagan & Folk Label "SMP/Trollzorn" and "Soulfood". Their new album "Wiedergang" will be released in March 2008!
